Tarban Creek Bridge, Deck arch road bridge in New South Wales, Australia
Tarban Creek Bridge is a prestressed concrete deck arch structure spanning a waterway and connecting the suburbs of Hunters Hill and Huntleys Point. The road carries four traffic lanes while a grade-separated shared path runs alongside for pedestrians and cyclists.
The bridge opened in 1965, addressing a transportation gap between the existing Gladesville and Fig Tree Bridges serving the Sydney region. It became a key infrastructure connection for the two suburbs on either side of Tarban Creek.
The bridge participates in the Seven Bridges Walk event since 2006, contributing to Sydney's fitness and community activities.
The crossing is straightforward for cars with clearly marked lanes allowing easy passage. Pedestrians and cyclists have their own dedicated route alongside the traffic, making it simple to travel without sharing space with vehicles.
Beneath the structure sit three rowing boathouses belonging to educational institutions including Sydney Girls High School and the University of New South Wales. These facilities use the waterway below for training activities, giving the bridge a sporting context.
