Crown Sydney, Hotel and building in Barangaroo, Australia
Crown Sydney is a 300-meter-tall hotel and business tower in Barangaroo that rises along the harbor edge with a curved glass facade. The structure contains multiple floors of guest rooms as well as additional levels dedicated to events and dining spaces.
British firm WilkinsonEyre designed the tower as part of a broader urban renewal project transforming former docklands along Darling Harbour. The building opened on December 28, 2020, following several years of construction.
The building's curved form draws inspiration from three overlapping petals and references the natural shapes found along the harbor. Its design earned the architecture team the international Emporis Skyscraper Award.
The reception desk operates around the clock and offers valet service for guests. From the ground-floor entrance, visitors can walk directly to adjacent retail outlets and public areas.
The facade consists of more than 1400 individual glass panels, each with different angles and dimensions. No two panes share the same shape, creating the aerodynamic silhouette of the tower.
