Grafton Bond Store, Heritage-listed warehouse in Millers Point, Sydney, Australia
The Grafton Bond Store stands at 60 Hickson Road with cream brick walls, stepped gable parapets, and hardwood structural elements throughout the building.
Constructed in 1881 by architect William Wardell, the building originated as part of a complex comprising 14 warehouses with capacity for 44,000 tonnes of cargo.
The structure represents the evolution of Sydney's maritime commerce, featuring Northern European architectural elements and traditional construction techniques from the Victorian era.
The building maintains its original features while incorporating modern office spaces, connecting multiple levels through the preserved timber flooring and support systems.
A sandstone wall frames the property, built to provide access between Kent Street and Hickson Road while establishing a physical boundary for the complex.
