Sydney Harbour Bridge, Bridge in Sydney, Australia

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel through arch bridge across Sydney Harbour.

Opened in 1932, it was the world's widest long-span bridge until 2012.

The bridge is nicknamed 'The Coathanger' due to its arch-based design.

It carries rail, vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district (CBD) and the North Shore.

The dramatic water vista of the bridge together with the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of both Sydney and Australia.
