Cintra House, Maitland, Heritage-listed Victorian house in Regent Street, Maitland, Australia

Cintra House is a Victorian residence with 31 rooms, high ceilings, and a large garden designed by Sydney gardener R. Culbert. The property includes multiple outbuildings and stables that have undergone recent restoration.

The house was built in 1879 by architect John Wiltshire Pender and later became a private hospital run by nurse Eileen Long. From World War One until the 1930s, it served the medical needs of the community.

The house displays Victorian ironwork and Italian architectural details that reflect the wealth of its early owners. These design choices reveal how affluent families lived during that period.

The property is located on Regent Street and features multiple entrances and pathways across the spacious grounds. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since exploring the full estate requires walking.

A Cupid statue stands at the center of a heart-shaped driveway marking the house entrance. The property has changed hands only once across its 142-year history.
