Rosewood Railway Museum, Railway museum in Rosewood, Australia
Rosewood Railway Museum is a collection point for historic trains and rail vehicles in the Queensland region. The facility displays locomotives, railmotors, and various railway equipment on the grounds of the former Marburg railway line.
The site was part of a railway line opened in 1912 that transported coal and was gradually closed from 1964 onward. Today the museum uses Kunkala station as its location to document this industrial past.
The site was established in the 1980s as a project to preserve the regional rail heritage of Queensland. Visitors can see today how enthusiasts document and maintain the area's local railway history.
The museum is currently not open to the public as safety management systems are being updated. Visitors should check ahead before planning a visit.
Among the most notable vehicles are the DL3 locomotive Mount Surprise and the railmotor RMd 55 Red Fred. These two machines represent different periods of regional rail engineering.
