Beenleigh Historical Village, Heritage village museum in Beenleigh, Australia.
Beenleigh Historical Village is an open-air museum with around 20 restored 19th-century buildings, including a former Anglican church and a railway station building. Each structure shows a different part of early settler life in Queensland.
The area became an important settlement point in the 1880s with the arrival of the railway. A family homestead was moved to the site in 2019 to help preserve everyday life from that period.
The site shows how early settlers used the land and practiced trades like blacksmithing through working exhibits. Visitors can see the spaces where people once carried out their daily work and crafts.
The site is best explored in warm weather since much of the museum is outdoors. Information signs guide visitors through the buildings, and guided group tours are available by arrangement for schools and groups.
A time capsule buried in 2018 during a ceremony with Queensland's Governor is meant to stay sealed for 46 years. It holds items that a future audience will discover only decades later.
