See Poy House, Heritage house in Innisfail, Australia

The See Poy House sits on Edith Street with multiple gables, timber construction, and corrugated metal roofing. Inside, several rooms are arranged for different functions including dining, sleeping, and gathering spaces.

The residence was built between 1929 and 1932 and belonged to Johnstone and Theodora See Poy, second-generation Chinese-Australians who operated the largest department store in North Queensland. The home reflected their economic influence during this period of growth.

The building displays leadlight windows and brass fittings that reflect how successful merchants in this region chose to construct their homes. The materials and craftsmanship showcase the economic standing that Chinese-Australian families had established in Innisfail.

The house sits on the western edge of Innisfail's central business district and is straightforward to find. Its original layout is still intact, allowing visitors to walk through the different residential areas.

The formal garden was designed by Johnstone See Poy and served as a venue for community gatherings. During the interwar years, it hosted special events including the Baby Show for the local Anglican Church.
