Riley Creek Campground, Campground at entrance of Denali National Park, Alaska, US
Riley Creek Campground is a campground at the entrance to Denali National Park with three separate loop areas and more than 140 individual sites. It accommodates both tent campers and recreational vehicles up to 40 feet long.
The campground was established in the 20th century as a way to make the Alaskan wilderness more accessible to visitors. It became one of the primary entry points for people exploring the national park.
Rangers lead programs that teach visitors about the animals and plants of this region and how people live in harmony with the wild landscape. These sessions help guests understand the environment they are exploring.
The site has potable water stations, flush toilets, and coin-operated showers throughout the loops. Each site is equipped with a food storage box to keep supplies safe from wildlife.
A secluded tent-only area in the third loop prohibits vehicles and offers a quieter camping experience. Yet modern facilities remain just a short walk away.
