The Security Building at 510 South Spring Street is an eleven-story, 165-foot steel-frame structure designed by Parkinson and Bergstrom in the Beaux Arts style. Its facade combines glazed tile and brick, with arched windows and faux columns on the first floor and a pronounced cornice at the top.
The building was designed in 1906 by the architecture firm The Parkinsons and held the title of tallest structure in Los Angeles for four years. This early construction demonstrates the city's rapid architectural growth during the early 1900s.
