The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, Outdoor concert hall in Embarcadero Marina Park South, San Diego, United States

The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park is an open-air venue on San Diego Bay whose stage sits inside a large white shell with a thick rounded rim and an arching ceiling that extends outward and upward. Black lights and hanging fixtures line the shell's interior, and two red-lit speaker columns hang vertically on either side of the stage. The covered stage measures 3,865 square feet (359.1 m2), and a sloping lawn of artificial turf rises in front of it.

The venue opened in 2021 as a permanent outdoor location for the San Diego Symphony after a major investment project. It was created to give the city a dedicated home for large-scale orchestral performances.

The venue is named for donors Ernest and Evelyn Rady ($15 million) and Joan and Irwin Jacobs ($11 million), whose gifts funded most of the $85 million project. Its opening night on August 6, 2021 paired a San Diego Symphony program of Mozart, Gershwin, Saint-Saëns and Stravinsky with fireworks. Pop acts from Sting to Olivia Rodrigo have since shared the stage with the orchestra.

The venue sits on the grounds of Embarcadero Marina Park South, leased from the Port of San Diego on San Diego Bay. Only temporary seating is installed, so the sloping artificial-turf lawn stays open to the public on non-concert days. The symphony limits the number of performances, and no more than six events a year may use the maximum capacity.
