The Grande at Santa Fe Place, Residential skyscraper in Core district, San Diego, United States
The Grande at Santa Fe Place consists of two matching residential towers rising 39 stories each in downtown San Diego's core district. Together, the structures shape the local skyline and serve as a defining element of the neighborhood's modern architecture.
The South Tower construction began in April 2002 and finished in 2004, while the North Tower was built from 2003 to 2005. The two-phase project represented significant residential development in downtown San Diego during the early 2000s.
The architectural firm Perkins & Company Architecture and Urban Design incorporated late-modernist elements into the residential complex design.
Each tower contains 221 residential units with four elevators serving the buildings for convenient movement between levels. The location in the core district offers direct access to downtown streets and nearby services.
The building shares the position of tenth tallest structure in San Diego with Vantage Pointe Condominium. This tie in ranking makes it a rare example of two buildings holding identical height status in the city's skyline.
