Windansea Beach, Protected beach area in La Jolla, United States.

Rocky shoreline with underwater reefs creates powerful waves that break directly onto the beach, forming challenging conditions for water activities.

The Windansea Shack, constructed in 1946 by Fred Kenyon, Don Okey, and Woody Ekstrom, received historical landmark status from San Diego in 1998.

Professional surfers Butch van Artsdalen and Mickey Munoz established their primary surf location at this beach, influencing generations of wave riders.

Visitors need to exercise extreme caution when entering and exiting the water due to severe shore breaks and underwater rock formations.

Natural sandstone formations along the coastline create separate beach sections, with waves typically reaching heights between six to eight feet.
