Founded in 1899, the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library continues to serve as a cultural institution in Southern California, maintaining its original mission.
The library regularly presents art exhibitions, chamber music performances, and jazz concerts while offering studio art classes through its School of the Arts.
Located at 1008 Wall Street, the library opens Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with extended hours until 8:30 PM on Wednesdays.
As one of only 16 nonprofit membership libraries in the United States, this institution maintains an extensive collection of artists' books in Southern California.
