Gammage Memorial Auditorium

Gammage Memorial Auditorium is a performing arts venue at Arizona State University featuring a distinctive rounded roof design. The building holds more than 3000 seats and utilizes a large stage system capable of supporting diverse performance types.

The building draws from an earlier architectural concept originally conceived for an opera house project in Iraq. Construction finished in 1964, making it one of the architect's final realized works.

The auditorium shapes campus cultural life by hosting Broadway shows, concerts, and theatrical productions year-round. Visitors encounter a mix of student performances and touring professional acts throughout the season.

The building is fully accessible with facilities for people with disabilities and a special sound system for hearing-impaired guests. Wide pedestrian ramps connect the parking areas directly to the main entrance.

The roof features a system of interlocking circles that gives the building an almost floating appearance above the campus. This unusual construction was technically groundbreaking when completed and remains visually striking from every approach.
