Tucson Convention Center, convention center

The Tucson Convention Center is a large indoor facility in downtown Tucson that houses multiple performance and event spaces under one roof. It contains the Tucson Arena for major sports and concert events, the Leo Rich Theater for more intimate performances, and the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall for concerts and theatrical productions.

Built in 1971 as the Tucson Community Center, the complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. A $22 million renovation in 2014 added new seating, lighting, a sound system and a video scoreboard, and the Beach Boys headlined the remodeled arena on January 4, 2015. The Tucson Music Hall was renamed the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall in 2022.

The complex's main concert hall was known as the Tucson Music Hall until 2022, when it was renamed the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall after the Tucson-born singer. The 2,289-seat hall hosts concerts and opera. The Leo Rich Theater, with 511 seats, is used for smaller performances.

The complex features wide hallways and entrances that make it easy to move around, especially when events draw large crowds. Multiple parking lots and garages are located nearby, and public bus stops are within walking distance, making it simple to arrive by car or transit.

The complex regularly hosts the Tucson Festival of Books, one of the largest book festivals in the country that draws thousands of visitors each year. This event transforms the venue into a hub for literature lovers seeking author meetings, rare book finds, and reading celebrations.
