Flickinger Center for Performing Arts is a 590-seat theater in Alamogordo, New Mexico, created from a 1950s moviehouse. Its 40-by-32-foot stage, orchestra pit, dressing rooms, wardrobe and orchestra room were added in a 1990–1991 conversion; a 2007 renovation brought a new sound booth, additional restrooms, a handicapped-seating area and an ADA-compliant ramp.

The building originally operated as the Sierra Theater before being purchased and donated by Margaret Flickinger in 1988 as a gift to the community. The New Mexico Symphony Orchestra gave its first performance there in December of that year, launching professional artistic programs.

The Miss New Mexico Scholarship Pageant has been held here each June since 1998, when it moved to Alamogordo. The Alamogordo Music Theater, a local amateur troupe, has staged most of its shows at the Center since 1989. In summer the organization runs the Tailgate Summer Jazz Series, outdoor concerts in the parking lot of the New Mexico Museum of Space History.

The 2007 renovation added an ADA-compliant ramp, a handicapped-seating area and extra restrooms, so step-free access is available. The building holds 590 seats after 90 were removed in that work. The Flickinger Guild volunteers handle most day-to-day operating tasks, including ushering.

The Flickinger Guild, founded in 1991, comprises volunteers who manage fundraising and organize free performances for residents throughout Otero County. This volunteer-run organization removes financial barriers and ensures broader access to live arts in the region.
