The Flickinger Center for Performing Arts contains 590 seats and presents concerts, plays, musicals, dance recitals, and theatrical productions throughout the year.
Originally built as the Sierra Theater, Margaret Flickinger purchased and donated the venue to Alamogordo Civic Auditorium in 1988 for cultural development.
The New Mexico Symphony Orchestra inaugurated performances in December 1988, marking the beginning of professional artistic presentations in this regional venue.
The facility provides modern sound equipment, lighting technology, comfortable seating, accessible amenities, and convenient parking for theater productions and events.
The Flickinger Guild, established in 1991, coordinates volunteer operations and fundraising activities while offering free performances to Otero County residents.
