La Tertulia Museum, Art museum in Cali, Colombia.
La Tertulia Museum is an art museum in Cali, Colombia, made up of three connected buildings along the Cali River. It contains exhibition galleries, a Cinemateca, a library, and workshops dedicated to printmaking and restoration.
The museum opened in 1956 in a building that had previously served as a school and cultural center in the city. Over the following decades it grew into a larger institution, adding new structures and broadening its program.
The museum holds a collection of about 1,500 artworks spanning different artistic movements from the mid-20th century onward. Visitors encounter works by artists from North and South America, showing varied techniques and visual approaches.
The three buildings are connected by clear pathways, making it easy to move between the galleries, the library, and the workshop areas. The library opens in the afternoon and stays open into the evening, which is worth keeping in mind when planning a visit.
The Cinemateca inside the museum is one of the few dedicated film venues in Cali, hosting regular festivals such as EuroCine. This draws a crowd that is as interested in film as in the art on the walls.
