Centennial Bridge, Panama

The Centennial Bridge extends 1,052 meters across the Panama Canal with two concrete towers reaching 184 meters in height and six traffic lanes.

The bridge officially opened on August 15, 2004, marking the second permanent crossing of the Panama Canal and alleviating traffic from the Bridge of the Americas.

The structure received its name to commemorate the centennial celebration of the Republic of Panama, which marked 100 years in November 2003.

Located 15 kilometers north of the Bridge of the Americas, this crossing provides essential connectivity between Panama's regions with six lanes of vehicular traffic.

The bridge incorporates a single plane of cables anchored along the median, allowing a vertical clearance of 80 meters for large vessels to pass underneath.
