Camino de Cruces National Park, National park with colonial trail in Panamá Province, Panama

The park extends over 4,590 hectares of undulating hills along the Panama Canal, containing dense tropical forests and diverse wildlife populations.

Spanish traders established the Camino de Cruces route in colonial times to transport gold and treasures from Peru to the Caribbean through the Chagres River.

The preserved sections of the original colonial road demonstrate the engineering methods used by Spanish settlers for transportation infrastructure in Panama.

Located 15 kilometers from Panama City, the park maintains a network of marked trails for hiking and wildlife observation throughout the year.

The park functions as a natural corridor connecting Soberania National Park and Metropolitan Natural Park, supporting animal migration patterns.
