The Museum of Modern Art in Barranquilla exhibits over 400 artworks from prominent Latin American artists in its collection, including pieces by Fernando Botero and Salvador Dali.
Founded in 1994, the museum operated informally since 1974 and recently relocated to the former Caribbean Cultural Park building, occupying the Coltabaco structure.
The museum organizes film screenings, lectures, and educational programs through initiatives like the Obregon Chair, fostering discussions about contemporary art in Colombia.
The museum opens Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with admission fees of 5,000 pesos for adults and 3,000 pesos for students.
The museum's new location, designed by architect Giancarlo Mazzanti, spans six floors across 3,000 square meters and features Alejandro Obregon's mural 'Cosas del aire'.
