Tequesquitengo, Lake resort in Jojutla Municipality, Mexico
Tequesquitengo is a settlement in Jojutla Municipality built around a large artificial lake at approximately 920 meters (3,000 feet) elevation. Mountains surround the valley, framing the water and creating the landscape of the area.
During the 1800s, irrigation channels redirected by the Mosso brothers caused flooding of the original village. This event created the present-day lake that now covers the former settlement.
