Chapultepec extends over 1700 acres and contains nine museums, two lakes, a zoo, and numerous recreational spaces within Mexico City's central area.
The Aztec rulers established Chapultepec as their retreat, building palaces and aqueducts, while Spanish colonizers later constructed the castle in the 18th century.
The National Museum of Anthropology within the park displays artifacts spanning 3,225 years from pre-Hispanic civilizations across its exhibition halls.
Visitors can rent paddle boats at Chapultepec Lake, use the EcoBici bike-sharing program, or access the free admission zoo with over 200 animal species.
The Cárcamo de Dolores water tank features murals by Diego Rivera and supplied one-sixth of Mexico City's water from 1951 to the 1990s.
