Torre Virreyes

Torre Virreyes is a skyscraper in Lomas de Chapultepec featuring a contemporary glass and steel structure with both above-ground and below-ground levels. The building houses modern office spaces arranged across multiple floors and includes planted terraces at different heights.

The building rose between 2011 and 2015 under the direction of architect Teodoro González de León, marking a key moment in Mexico City's ongoing architectural evolution. Its completion coincided with a broader period when the city was developing more modern business structures with locally informed design approaches.

Inside the building, contemporary artworks sit naturally within the commercial spaces, reflecting how Mexico City weaves creative expression into business districts. These installations spread across different levels and invite visitors to notice cultural details while moving through.

The building connects directly to Mexico City's public transportation network, making it easy to reach without a car. Visiting during daytime hours when the building is in regular operation offers the best chance to see its interior spaces and artworks.

Arup engineered the structure with specialized solutions designed to handle Mexico City's unique geological conditions, where the ground beneath presents particular challenges. These technical innovations remain unseen from outside but are essential to the building's stability and longevity.
