Superman: Krypton Coaster, Steel roller coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, San Antonio, United States.
Superman: Krypton Coaster is a floorless steel roller coaster located at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. The ride climbs to heights of around 51 meters and accelerates riders through multiple inversions at speeds exceeding 112 kilometers per hour (70 mph).
The ride was engineered by Bolliger & Mabillard and opened in 2000. It held the record for the world's tallest vertical loop at approximately 44 meters until another attraction claimed the title in 2013.
The trains are themed after the Superman comic series, with a design that lets riders' feet dangle freely throughout the entire ride. This distinctive feature creates an unusual sensation of weightlessness that echoes the superhero's abilities.
The ride is accessible with regular park admission and operates with three trains, each carrying 32 passengers arranged in eight rows. Visitors should prepare for open-air exposure, as the entire journey takes place without weather protection.
The track winds through natural quarry walls and curves around an irrigation pond, creating an unusual integration with the park's geological features. This blend of engineered structure and natural landscape makes the route visually and physically distinct from similar attractions.
