Beach Hotel, seasonal resort in Texas
Beach Hotel is a resort in Galveston situated directly on the water along Seawall Boulevard. It offers approximately 120 rooms with contemporary furnishings, an outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, and complimentary parking on the property.
The original Beach Hotel was built in 1882 and became a prominent summer destination with a distinctive red and white striped dome roof that could be seen from a distance. After being destroyed by fire in 1898, it was rebuilt only to be completely swept away by a catastrophic hurricane in September 1900.
The beach area around the hotel reflects a culture of leisure and outdoor living. Visitors naturally gravitate toward water-based activities, local shops, and outdoor dining that characterize Galveston's relaxed coastal lifestyle.
The hotel sits on Seawall Boulevard and is easily accessible from different parts of the island with complimentary parking and 24-hour front desk service. A continental breakfast is served each morning, free WiFi is available, and guests can easily reach the beach, shops, and nearby activities from here.
While today operated as a modern resort, this site was home to the original Beach Hotel, a striking structure destroyed by fire and then a powerful hurricane in the late 1800s. The tragic history of the original building remains a notable chapter in Galveston's story, often mentioned in local historical accounts.
