One Moody Plaza

One Moody Plaza is a 23-story office tower that rises prominently above Downtown Galveston's streetscape. The structure's modern design and substantial height make it one of the most visible buildings when viewing the city from the harbor or surrounding areas.

The building was constructed in 1972 during a period of commercial growth in Galveston. Its listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021 recognized its role in shaping the city's modern development.

The building serves as the headquarters for American National Insurance Company, a major employer rooted in the local business community. This corporate presence has shaped the economic identity of Galveston for generations.
