The Houston Harte University Center is a large student facility on Angelo State University's campus that houses dining areas, recreational spaces, and offices for student organizations. The building brings together different zones where students can eat, study, gather, and access campus services.
The center is named for Houston Harte, co-founder of the Harte-Hanks newspaper chain and a major donor to Angelo State University. Completed in 2005, the 110,000-square-foot building replaced earlier student union space on campus.
The C.J. Davidson Conference Center within the building hosts numerous student gatherings, campus events, and community programs throughout the academic year.
The building is easy to navigate since all main facilities are centrally arranged for student convenience. Visitors should expect certain areas to be busier during peak meal times and between classes.
The facility features a 12-foot projection screen and multiple plasma televisions equipped with Xbox 360 consoles for recreational gaming activities.
