Guthrie

Guthrie is the county seat of King County in Texas, situated at an elevation of about 539 meters among ranching lands and open terrain. The settlement functions as the administrative hub for a sparsely populated region in South Texas.

King County was established in 1876 and named after William Philip King, a figure from the Alamo era. Guthrie then developed as the administrative center for the county.
