Grapevine, Historical downtown district in Grapevine, Texas, United States.

Grapevine is a city in Texas that extends northwest of Dallas and northeast of Fort Worth across three counties. The downtown core preserves late 19th-century buildings and sits around Main Street Plaza.

The first settlers arrived here in 1844 after General Sam Houston signed treaties with ten Indigenous nations. The town received a post office in 1854 and incorporated officially in 1884.

The town takes its name from the wild mustang grapes that once grew along local springs and creeks. Several wineries now produce regional wines and offer tastings in cellars scattered around the downtown area.

The downtown area is easy to walk around, with short distances between shops and restaurants along the main street. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport sits partly within city limits and provides connections to the region.

A heritage train runs regularly from the downtown depot to nearby Fort Worth, following the original 1890s railway route. The ride takes about an hour and passes through fields and small communities along the historic line.
