Plano

Plano is a city in the northern part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, covering territory in Collin County and a smaller portion of Denton County. Wide roads run through the city between residential and commercial zones, shopping centers, and green spaces spread across an extensive area.

The place took its name from the Spanish word for flat terrain, describing the level landscape on which it developed. The arrival of the railroad in 1873 transformed the settlement into an important hub for trade and transport in the region.
