Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts, Performing arts center in Richardson, Texas
The Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts is a performing arts venue in Richardson with multiple performance halls for different artistic disciplines. The Margaret and Al Hill Performance Hall seats approximately 1,500 people, while the Bank of America Theater serves as a second major hall.
The center opened in 2002 following a major donation from Charles W. Eisemann through the Communities Foundation of Texas. The project grew out of a vision to bring a modern performing arts venue to the Richardson area.
The center serves as the main home for the Plano and Richardson symphony orchestras, which present regular performances here. Visitors experience a range of artistic forms, from classical music to contemporary dance, all within one venue.
The venue is easily accessible and sits right next to the Galatyn Park DART station, making public transportation straightforward. The building features a spacious multi-level lobby where visitors can explore art displays or grab refreshments before a show.
Inside the building, visitors can see the 'Seven Muses' light installation by artist Stephen Knapp, created in 2006. This artwork uses specially designed glass to interact with light, producing unexpected visual effects as you walk through the space.
