Southfork Ranch, Tourist ranch and film location in Parker, United States.
Southfork Ranch is a working property with a white columned mansion, several barns, and riding facilities set among open fields north of Dallas. Visitors walk through rooms furnished with television props, watch horses grazing in the pastures, and explore the landscaped grounds around the main house.
The property became a television filming location in the late 1970s for a Texas-set series that aired for over a decade. After production ended, the ranch opened as a museum and tourist destination.
The mansion exhibits items from the Dallas series, including the gun from J.R.'s shooting scene, Lucy's wedding dress, and Jock's Lincoln Continental.
The site opens five days a week with guided tours through the main house and access to outdoor areas. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes for walking and allow time to stroll the grounds beyond the mansion tour.
Guests can book overnight stays in mansion rooms that are otherwise only open for tours. On select evenings, traditional Texas-style dinners with chuckwagon presentations take place on the property.
