Saint Alphonsus Church features a symmetrical facade with two square towers, decorated pilasters, corbelled brick panels, and niches for statues throughout the exterior.
The church, designed by architect Louis L. Long and completed in 1855, received National Historic Landmark designation in 1996 for its architectural value.
The interior displays a multi-colored design scheme with a coved plaster ceiling painted by Dominique Canova and stained glass windows from F. X. Zettler of Bavaria.
The building at 2030 Constance Street operates as the Saint Alphonsus Art and Cultural Center, welcoming visitors Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
