Confederate Memorial Hall, Civil War museum in New Orleans, United States

The Confederate Memorial Hall Museum exhibits more than 5,000 artifacts related to the Civil War, including uniforms, weapons, and historical documents.

The museum, designed by architect Thomas O. Sully in Richardsonian Romanesque style, opened its doors on January 8, 1891, as Louisiana's first museum.

The collection includes personal belongings of Confederate leaders, such as Jefferson Davis's Bible and saddle, donated by his wife Varina Davis.

Located at 929 Camp Street, the museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday through Saturday between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM throughout the year.

On May 29, 1893, over 60,000 people gathered at the hall to pay respects to Confederate President Jefferson Davis before his final burial in Richmond.
