The American National Bank Building at 226 South Palafox Street features ten floors of classical architectural elements with a stone and brick facade.
The structure, completed in 1910 at a cost of $250,000, held the title of Florida's tallest building and remained the highest in Pensacola until 1974.
The building represents the financial growth of early 20th century Pensacola through its grand architecture and prominent location in the business district.
The structure, now known as Seville Tower, continues to serve the community as an office building and stands near the old Escambia County Courthouse.
The site previously housed Florida's first telephone exchange, which began operations in 1880 and served 31 telephone connections throughout the city.
