First National Bank Building

The First National Bank Building stands on Palafox Street in Pensacola with a steel frame wrapped in limestone facing and decorative stone panels. Tall Corinthian columns mark the main entrances and give the structure its distinguished appearance.

Architects Mowbray and Uffinger completed this structure in 1908 during Florida's banking expansion in the early 1900s. The building represents how the region grew economically as more financial institutions established themselves.

The building is now called the Matt Langley Bell III Building and forms part of the Escambia County Government Center. It remains an active part of downtown life and continues to serve people visiting the civic offices.
