Neshoba County, County administrative center in Philadelphia, Mississippi.

Neshoba County is an administrative division in central Mississippi with Philadelphia as its governmental center. The area includes several communities and serves as the seat for county operations and public services.

The Mississippi legislature established this county in 1833, naming it after a Choctaw word meaning wolf. Early settlement of the region was closely tied to the Choctaw Nation's presence.

The Pearl River Resort, operated by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, shows the lasting presence of Native Americans in the region. The place holds important meaning for local communities.

Philadelphia is easy to reach and offers main services and facilities for visitors. Most government buildings and public services are concentrated in the town center.

The Williams Brothers Store has operated since the early 1900s and continues to function as a general merchandise shop. It shows how long-standing businesses in the region have kept their original purpose.
