Guntersville

Guntersville is a county seat in Marshall County, Alabama, located where the Tennessee River meets Lake Guntersville at its southern end. The city spreads across land and water, with multiple shores and beaches providing access to the lake for swimming, boating, and fishing.

John Gunter established the settlement in 1785 on the site of a Cherokee trading post. The community grew and became known as Gunter's Landing, eventually becoming an incorporated town.
