Desembarco del Granma National Park

The national park extends over 32,576 hectares, including 26,180 hectares of land and 6,396 hectares of marine territories along the Caribbean coast.

The park commemorates the 1956 landing site of the Granma yacht carrying Fidel Castro and 81 revolutionaries from Mexico to initiate the Cuban Revolution.

The protected area contains multiple archaeological sites with artifacts from pre-Columbian settlements, revealing the historical human presence in this region.

Visitors can access hiking trails through the limestone formations, with guided tours available from nearby towns and accommodations in local establishments.

Marine terraces in the park range from 180 meters below sea level to 360 meters above, formed through tectonic uplift between North American and Caribbean plates.
