Dunn's River Falls, Coastal waterfall in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

The falls extend 55 meters in height and 180 meters in length, creating a natural staircase formation with multiple terraced pools flowing into the Caribbean Sea.

The site marks the location of the 1657 Battle of Las Chorreras, where English forces defeated Spanish troops, leading to British control of Jamaica.

The Taino people named the region Xayamaca, meaning land of rivers and springs, while Spanish settlers called these falls Las Chorreras.

Visitors can climb the falls with certified guides, use adjacent stairs for viewing, or enjoy the white sand beach at the base of the cascades.

The waterfall continuously rebuilds itself through sediment deposits from the spring water, making it one of few travertine waterfalls flowing directly into an ocean.
