The Turtle River Falls & Gardens

The Turtle River Falls & Gardens spans across a tropical landscape with fourteen waterfalls, numerous fish ponds, and a large bird aviary covering 400,000 cubic feet.

The site opened in 1987 as Carinosa Gardens before expanding in 1991, under the ownership of former Jamaican Prime Minister Edward Seaga.

The gardens maintain nearly 100 varieties of trees and plants, including Jamaican endemic species that demonstrate traditional medicinal applications in local communities.

Visitors can access the gardens Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sundays until 5:00 PM, with guided tours lasting over one hour.

The bird sanctuary allows guests to feed hundreds of exotic birds directly from their hands while walking through an enclosed natural environment.
