Chascomús Partido, Administrative division in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina

Chascomús Partido is an administrative municipality located about 110 kilometers south of Buenos Aires, covering an area of roughly 4,225 square kilometers. The region is dominated by farmland where cattle ranching and dairy production are the main activities.

The municipality was established in 1801 by Pedro Nicolás Escribano, with Fort San Juan Bautista serving as the initial settlement. This fort was built to extend Spanish control over the southern areas of the province.

The Museo Pampeano displays the history of farming life in the region through tools, photographs, and documents that show how agriculture shaped the province. Visitors can see how rural families lived and worked across different periods.

Information and services are available through the official website chascomus.gob.ar, where visitors can access general guidance and make inquiries. A service line at 147 provides support for common questions about navigating the area.

The Lago de Chascomús is the largest body of water in the region and serves as a local gathering place for weekend activities. The lagoon plays an important role in both agricultural irrigation and recreation for the area.
