The bronze Christ statue stands 8 meters tall at the intersection of Avenidas Cristo Redentor, Cristóbal de Mendoza, and Monseñor Rivero in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
Bolivian sculptor Emiliano Luján created the monument in 1961 to commemorate the Fourth National Eucharistic Congress, with President Víctor Paz Estenssoro attending its inauguration.
The Association of Santa Cruz Ladies, led by Victoria Velasco Franco de Tejada, collected funds in La Paz to establish this symbol of religious devotion.
The monument serves as a primary reference point for navigation within Santa Cruz de la Sierra, situated along the second ring road with surrounding green spaces.
In 2015, a papal altar was added near the statue to mark Pope Francis's visit to Bolivia, enhancing its spiritual significance for the community.
