Days Mill and Farm

Days Mill and Farm is a three-story brick mill building constructed in the 1800s to process flour for the surrounding region. The site includes a granary, stables, sheds, and original milling equipment still visible today.

William Day founded the mill in 1865, and his wife Anne took over operations after his death, running it until 1891. The facility served as a key flour production site for the Murchison South region during this period.

The mill represents a time when farming and milling were central to rural life and community survival. Visitors can observe how living and working spaces merged in a single property during this period.

The site is accessible by walking paths and has marked areas where visitors can explore at their own pace. Wear sturdy shoes as some paths are uneven, and bring sun protection since shaded areas are limited throughout the grounds.

The residence contains hand-painted stencil work and marbled decorations from 1910 that show how affluent mill owners decorated their homes. Such elaborate details are rarely well-preserved and offer insight into Victorian craftsmanship in rural areas.
