Malibu Hindu Temple

The Malibu Hindu Temple comprises two separate complexes featuring intricate Dravidian architectural design in the Santa Monica Mountains. Each complex houses different major deities along with surrounding shrine areas dedicated to various divine forms.

The temple was founded in 1981 and developed through support from families within the local community. Priests were brought directly from India to establish and maintain authentic religious traditions.

The temple serves as a gathering place for the local Hindu community, where traditional rituals and festivals like Sri Annamacharya Day are celebrated to maintain their spiritual practices.

Visitors should plan ahead and be prepared for rural mountain roads due to the remote location. Comfortable clothing and good walking shoes are recommended as the terrain is hilly and best explored on foot.

The upper complex is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara as the primary deity, while the lower complex centers on Lord Shiva. This separation allows visitors to experience two distinct spiritual focal points within the same location.
