Liberty Hill International Sculpture Park, Sculpture garden in Liberty Hill, Texas, US
Liberty Hill International Sculpture Park displays about 27 artworks made from native granite, concrete, and steel scattered across its grounds. These installations create an open space where visitors can walk among the individual pieces at their own pace.
An international sculpture symposium in 1976 brought together artists from six nations to create permanent installations for the community. This gathering established the foundation for what became a significant art venue for the town.
The collection brings together sculptural works from Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Japan, and the United States, each reflecting different artistic approaches. Walking through the grounds, visitors experience these international perspectives in one location.
The sculpture park is accessible through two entry points: Liberty Hill Intermediate School and Lions Foundation Park, both located on Loop 332. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since the grounds invite self-guided walking among the artworks.
The park earned the town the first Texas Arts Award for cities under 100,000 residents in 1977, marking a turning point in cultural recognition. This honor shows how a single art initiative could transform a small town's profile at the state level.
