Littlefield Fountain, War memorial fountain at University of Texas, US
The memorial includes a three-tiered granite pool with bronze sculptures depicting a ship, an eagle, Columbia figure, and military personnel surrounded by water jets.
Italian sculptor Pompeo Coppini designed this memorial in 1919 after George Littlefield donated $250,000 to honor University of Texas students who died in World War I.
The fountain contains bronze plaques listing the names of University of Texas students and alumni who perished during the Great War.
The fountain stands at the entrance of the South Mall, serving as a central meeting point for university students and visitors throughout the academic year.
The bronze sculpture features three hippocamps partially submerged in the pool, with two of them carrying mermen figures alongside the central ship structure.
