The settlement was renamed Round Top when a postmaster took residence in a house featuring a distinctive round tower during early Texas settlement. This naming change marked a key moment in the town's development.
The Bethlehem Lutheran Church shows the mark of German settlers and stands as Texas's oldest continuously operating Lutheran sanctuary. Today visitors can experience regular services that keep this heritage alive.
