Cocolobo Cay Club, Private club on Adams Key in Biscayne National Park, Florida.
The Cocolobo Cay Club was a private facility on an island north of Key Largo featuring a two-story main building with ten guest rooms and a dining area. The entire structure was designed to accommodate visitors and provide them with meals and lodging.
The property was founded in 1922 by millionaire Carl G. Fisher and became a location of considerable political importance. It hosted visits from four U.S. presidents and was acquired by the National Park Service in 1973.
The location served as a gathering place where powerful businesspeople and government leaders could meet and spend time together in a private setting. These exclusive gatherings shaped the social life of the wealthy elite during its years of operation.
The site is now part of Biscayne National Park and open for day visits, with boat access being the only way to reach the island. Planning ahead is important since the location is only accessible by private or commercial boat tours.
A radiophone system was installed in 1919 to coordinate member arrivals and meal preparations at the facility. This allowed staff to prepare for incoming guests and avoid having multiple yachts arrive simultaneously without notice.
